Differences Between SM, TM, and TM FL Magnetic Separators for Injection Molding Machine Hoppers

In the plastics industry, material purity is essential for the smooth operation of injection molding machines. Even tiny metal contaminants can damage the screw or mold or reduce the quality of the final product. That is why magnetic separators for injection molding machine hoppers are used to capture ferromagnetic particles before the material enters the machine.

The most commonly used types include the SM, TM, and TM FL separators.

Star-shaped hopper magnet SM

The SM star-shaped magnetic separator is used for basic separation of metal contaminants from plastic pellets. Thanks to its simple design, it offers an affordable solution for standard operations.

Main advantages:

  • low purchase price,
  • simple design,
  • easy installation in the hopper,
  • strong neodymium magnets.

During cleaning, the captured metal contaminants must be removed manually directly from the magnets.

Hopper magnet TM

The TM magnetic separator is designed to separate ferromagnetic contaminants from plastic pellets directly in the injection molding machine hopper. The separator’s design ensures uniform material flow through the magnetic tubes.

Main advantages:

  • high separation efficiency,
  • easy cleaning,
  • magnets housed in stainless steel tubes,
  • quick maintenance without the need for manual removal of contaminants.

During cleaning, simply slide the magnetic core out of the stainless steel tube and the captured metal particles will fall out on their own.

Hopper magnet TM FL

The TM FL magnetic separator is based on the TM design but is additionally equipped with a special collar that eliminates dead spots during material flow.

Main advantages:

  • elimination of dead spots,
  • ensuring all material passes through the separator,
  • higher separation efficiency,
  • easy cleaning and maintenance.

Thanks to this design, the TM FL is particularly suitable for operations with high demands on separation quality.

Formwork Magnets: A Fast, Precise, and Reliable Solution for Prefabrication

In modern prefabricated production, every detail matters when it comes to efficiency. That is precisely why more and more companies are relying on formwork magnets, which significantly simplify and speed up the formwork securing process.

If you’re looking for a way to speed up production, increase precision, and reduce costs at the same time, a formwork magnet is the solution that makes sense.

What is a formwork magnet and how does it work?

Formwork magnets are used to quickly and securely attach formwork elements to steel molds without the need for drilling, welding, or screws. The result is faster handling and higher production efficiency.

Key benefits of formwork magnets

  • Quick, tool-free installation
  • High holding force
  • Precision and repeatability
  • Time and cost savings
  • Gentle on molds

Practical applications

Formwork magnets find wide application across precast production:

Precast concrete components

  • fixing formwork side panels
  • creating precise shapes and edges
  • production of panels, walls, or columns

Mass production

  • Quick mold changeovers between individual products
  • Ideal for repetitive production with an emphasis on precision

Flexible production processes

  • Easy repositioning of magnets according to current needs
  • Adaptation to various types of projects without complex setup

Holders and stops

In addition to securing the formwork itself, magnets can also be used as:

  • stops for precise positioning,
  • holders for additional elements
