Detailed information

Product detailed description

A zinc-plated steel base 27 mm in diameter and 3 mm thick with a 5.5 mm inner hole, weight 12 g. A screw-on steel disc counterpart for magnets approximately 25–27 mm in diameter, for example neodymium rings D 25/8 mm. The countersunk hole allows the screw head to be sunk level with the seating face. This is not a magnet.

  1. What is the 27x3 mm metal disc counterpart PDSD04 for?
You screw it onto a non-magnetic substrate and create a steel base on which a magnet holds. Without it a magnet would have nothing to grip on wood, plastic or aluminium.
  1. Which magnets is PDSD04 suitable for?
Magnets and pot magnets roughly 25–27 mm in diameter, typically neodymium rings D 25 mm.
  1. What screw hole does the PDSD04 steel base have?
The inner diameter of the hole is 5.5 mm and the hole is countersunk for a conical screw head, so that the head does not stand above the seating face.
  1. Must a countersunk screw be used?
Yes, we recommend it. A screw with a cylindrical or dome head creates an air gap between the magnet and the steel, and the holding force drops noticeably.
  1. Does the PDSD04 package contain a magnet?
No. We supply the steel disc counterpart alone; you choose the magnet separately according to the holding force required.
  1. Can PDSD04 be combined with a rubber-coated magnet?
Yes. A rubber-coated magnet holds on this steel base just as it does on any other steel, and the rubber also protects the surface from scratching.
