The largest bonded steel base in the range: 60 mm in diameter, 2.5 mm thick, zinc-plated, with double-sided adhesive tape. The greater thickness closes the magnetic flux better, so this metal disc counterpart is intended for large magnets and pot magnets approximately 50–60 mm across. It has no magnetic field of its own.

1. Why is the 60 mm disc 2.5 mm thick when the smaller ones are 2 mm?
   A thicker steel base carries the flux of a large magnet better. At 60 mm diameter a 2 mm sheet would not close the magnetic field as effectively and the holding force would fall.

2. Which magnets is the 60 mm steel base made for?
   Magnets and pot magnets roughly 50–60 mm in diameter — for example 57 mm ferrite pot magnets or neodymium rings D 60 mm. As a metal disc for pot magnet mounting it is the largest bonded size we offer.

3. Is the zinc-plated 60x2.5 mm metal disc counterpart magnetic?
   No. It is a steel part with no field of its own that merely gives the magnet an area to grip.

4. Will the adhesive tape hold a magnet mounting disc this large together with a strong magnet?
   Neither the steel nor the magnet is the limit — the bonded joint and the substrate are. For large magnets under vertical load we recommend the countersunk steel disc version.

5. Where is the 60 mm size typically used?
   On large covers, doors, exhibition panels and jigs, where a higher holding force is required and a sufficiently large flat area is available.

6. What is the difference between zinc and white lacquer in this size?
   Dimensions and function are the same. The zinc-plated steel base is the cheaper option, while the white lacquered metal disc counterpart suits places where a large disc should blend into a white surface.
