A white lacquered steel base 40 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick with double-sided adhesive tape. A metal disc counterpart of this size is used for magnets and pot magnets around 36–40 mm in diameter, that is, for assemblies with a higher holding force. The white lacquer keeps the look discreet on white furniture and walls. The magnet must be ordered separately.

1. What is the white lacquered 40x2 mm metal disc?
   A steel base 40 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick with a white lacquered finish and double-sided adhesive tape. It creates a steel mounting surface for a magnet on a surface that would not hold the magnet by itself.

2. Which magnets suit the white 40 mm steel base?
   Magnets and pot magnets roughly 36–40 mm in diameter — for example 40 mm threaded pot magnets or 40 mm ferrite office magnets.

3. Does the surface need preparing before bonding?
   Yes. The substrate must be dry, clean and degreased, otherwise the tape will not reach full adhesion. After placing the steel disc counterpart, press it firmly for 20 seconds.

4. Will the white lacquer survive contact with a strong neodymium magnet?
   The lacquer resists ordinary attaching, but repeated sliding of the magnet across the surface can cause wear. Place the magnet down perpendicularly.

5. Can this metal disc counterpart be used on a magnetic board or a fridge?
   It is not needed on those surfaces — they are steel and a magnet holds on them directly. It makes sense on glass, wood, plastic, aluminium and plasterboard.

6. How does 40x2 mm differ from the screw-on 45x2 mm version?
   This steel base is bonded and has no screw hole. The 45x2 mm version is anchored with a countersunk screw and takes a higher, permanent load.
