Detailed information

Product detailed description

A zinc-plated steel base 40 mm in diameter and 2 mm thick with double-sided adhesive tape. The larger diameter is intended for stronger magnets and pot magnets roughly 36–40 mm across, which need a sufficient seating area. You stick this metal disc counterpart onto wood, glass, plastic or lacquered metal without drilling; it works as a steel disc for magnets, not as a magnet itself.

  1. Which magnets is the 40x2 mm metal disc counterpart made for?
Magnets and pot magnets approximately 36–40 mm in diameter — for example 40 mm pot magnets or 36 mm office magnets. The magnet should cover most of the steel base.
  1. Why is a smaller diameter not enough?
If the magnet is larger than the steel base, it overhangs the edge and the magnetic flux is not closed through the steel — the holding force then drops considerably. Choose the diameter to match the magnet.
  1. Is the adhesive metal disc for magnets magnetic in itself?
No. It is a steel disc counterpart whose parameters state directly “This is not a magnet”.
  1. Will the adhesive tape carry a heavier load?
The load capacity is set by the weakest link — the tape and the substrate, not the steel. For vertically loaded applications we recommend the screw-on version.
  1. Which substrates are unsuitable for the 40 mm steel base?
Greasy, damp, dusty and porous surfaces, and soft wallpaper. Smooth, clean and degreased areas such as glass or lacquered wood are suitable.
  1. How does this differ from the white lacquered 40x2 mm version?
Dimensions, thickness and function are identical. The zinc-plated steel base is cheaper and technically neutral; choose white lacquer where the metal disc counterpart should blend into a white surface.
